Lifeguard tower 28 at the northern end of Ponto Beach (South Carlsbad State Beach). A winter storm had eroded much of the beach in this part and Highway 101 was under threat of becoming damaged too. The city had put these large boulders here to protect the highway, and provided me with nice lead-in lines for the tower.
This is my family's favorite beach, where we go swim, boogie-board and stand-up paddle-board. This image is also in half the number of guest rooms at the Carlsbad-by-the-Sea Resort. The other half of the rooms has Carlsbad Coastline on the wall.
