Carlsbad - Featured Images
Carlsbad is where I live and work. The coastline, neighborhoods, and everyday scenes here are part of my daily rhythm rather than places I pass through. This gallery exhibits featured images of Carlsbad. If you’d like to see all my Carlsbad work, go here.
A storm is moving in offshore, with rain visible on the horizon while a light drizzle had already started as I walked back toward my car. I didn’t mind the rain.

Lifeguard tower 28 at the northern end of Ponto Beach (South Carlsbad State Beach). A winter storm had eroded much of the beach in this part and Highway 101 was under threat of becoming damaged too. The city had put these large boulders here to protect the highway, and provided me with nice lead-in lines for the tower.

As I live and work in Carlsbad, I had to catch this scene; the Carlsbad Flower Fields with the power plant and ocean in the background. I waited for a couple of days so there would finally be clouds in the sky (it was after some rainy days). The clouds interact nicely with the sun setting.

A collage of nine Carlsbad photographs, in an open edition.
From top left to bottom right we have:
